The Face of Illegal Trail Riding in the Fells

I attended the Red Bones Bike Benefit whatever thing on Monday and picked up a flyer from the good folks at NEMBA urging participation in a new campaign to gain some more MTB access to all the fun, currently illegal singletrack that the “Friends of the Fells” would prefer to reserve for unleashed dogs and Casual Encounters.  Scrutinizing the flier I couldn’t help but admire the poise of the rider tackling a steep section of illegal Fellsway trail when I realized that the photo is of me, a photo previously posted on this blog.  Pretty funny, I’m happy to be the poster child for opening more single track in the Fells, I just wish I’d been on a Budd Bike Works frame in the photo.

Anyway if you see these fliers and care about trail access please attend the upcoming meetings at which new strategy for combating the old stodgy Friends of the Fells will be discussed, I don’t have the specifics or a copy of the flier at the moment but more info can be found with the New England Mountain Bike Association.
