Budd Bike Works is something like a Fairy. Yeah, a magical winged thing that only exists when someone believes in them. At that point, that some soul believes enough to commission a custom frame build, the lights come on and I start designing and building. This fantasy world where I hone metal to earn my keep is not independent of the reality of the fact that I have to keep at my day job to keep the fairy dust flowing and it doesn’t stop when I’ve a bike on the burner. So between reporting for duty at the moving company and getting a few races in on the cyclo-cross courses this fall I’ve been busy down in the work shop, getting things fit up to weld up and ensuring that all the bits to make what is now a precariously perched pile of tubes into a full tilt thrill machine will come together perfectly. Got a couple more days off to keep casting the spell this week and all the bits that I’m not making myself have shipped so here’s hoping there won’t be further delay.
So the seven billionth human on the planet is predicted to have been born today, I hope there is room for fairies on a crowded planet.
