Labor of Love

getting caffinated and carbohydrated to take a test ride on the personal off road frame that I just finally finished after over a month in the jig and the drawing board.  I can’t wait to get some pics that actually show any of the features that I’ve been working so hard on like.

Eccentric BB for riding geared, single or fixed without finagling with the disc brakes or what I view as a structural compromise to cantilevering the dropout beyond the rear triangle with sliders. messing around with bottom bracket position for trials type or speedier riding is fun as well.

Asymetric, Sectional, Stays (or) A.S.S. to accomodate large tire and chainring clearance on ultra short stays that I prefer for wheeliability and digging in on climbs.  Long top tube should keep the front wheel down when it is steep.

Revised head tube gusseting to allow clearance for knobs on suspension forks and making the head tube to down tube connection wide.

I’ll be getting a second fork for it so that it can be run either with over 100mm of travel 26″ wheel suspension or with a non suspension corrected rigid 29er fork at 71 degrees.

Top tube is ovalized horizontally and completely wraps the seat tube and is welded direcly to the biaxially ovalized tube of the monostay seat assembly.

Reinforcement struts from seat to chainstay on drive and non drive side to stiffen the rear end and keep the thing looking balanced

really excited to get it into the woods & see if any of the things I’ve been pulling my hair out over really make any difference to the ride.

Getting some awful first pics of it up on the blog now.
