Reversing the trend of Korean Web Hackers clipping BBW Blog content to sell Penis Pills and Pyramid Schemes, Clipping my own E-mails to publish a post again (OR) BBW’s word on Frame Forum’s disc Brake Debate

Editors Note-"The frame forum is an e-mail list serve where framebuilders,
industry types, wanna-bes, and an extensive peanut gallery quip ad nausea
about every intricacy of the craft, and get pretty snarky while they're at it.
When I have another minute I'll get a laugh at the traditionalists on the list's
response to the latest news from france."

I am a nerd. the frame forum is awesome.

Been away from the computer and this is the first I've seen of the
list response to the UCI lifting the ban on Disc Brakes in internationally
sanctioned cyclocross racing so forgive me if any of this is regurgitation
as I've not read a thing of this thread
yet. Anyway, all of the previous disadvantages to hydraulic discs up
to this point in terms of weight and integration into road shift/brake
controls will be profitable to engineer out now that the ban is lifted
and the racing market is open to manufacturers.

Beyond an aesthetic idealism why not to go for the most powerful and
predictable braking available for competition? Not to mention that discs
make for a damn quick wheel change at the pits, no need for a hose down
and bike switch between muddy laps...
Wait What?
Cross Racing without two bikes?
Without a Pit Crew?
Without a team?
Is it sacralidge?
Or could it democratize the sport and open up racing to the type of riders
that thrive riding Highly variable terrain at high speeds but never got into
the road race scene's expense and social necessity?

A thousand more words on the subject.

Time will tell, but I'll build you a damn fine disc brake ready  race stead for when the component makers learn they'll have to catch up during the coming cross season's revelation. Matt Budd Budd Bike Works
