BBW #28 & #29 Build Progression

Follow The Build on FFFFFFFFFFFLickR

Living in a bike building hot bed like Boston sometimes has some serious advantages.

Got a great jump on meeting my self imposed deadline on BBWs #28 and #29 with some help from the neighbor on the corner.  .  I owe Mr. DiFrancisco a big old bag of coffee beans for taking an hour out of what looked to be an extremely busy day at Cantabrarian Mechanics to miter much of the front triangle of both frames on his Bridgeport Vertical Mill and Anvil Fixture.

Having built my last 15 frames solely with hand tools the skirring sound  of the hole saw making quick scharf of what would have been multiple hours of painstaking labor was music to my ears. Rear triangles are marked for cutting on a mill as well.  It has been fun to get back into concentrating on meticulous drafting and design rather than the file and a wit method that I can employ when I am building free form.

I am awaiting my second wind to take a crack at getting #29 tacked tonight.  Or not.  I have to make my triumphant return to the moving trucks tomorrow to make sure I’ll still have a job when I need the hours again and I am pooped. Measuring is hard work.

I’ll try for Pictures Soon, #28 ought to be pretty wild as Wei Wei has insisted that her bike be ” ” and with illustration, “SEXY”, so it gets extra manipulated tubing.  Well we’ll see because I don’t really know what that means, I kind of think any bike is sexy when it is ridden right.
