There are people that I’ve met that are the model of composure, always organized and thinking ahead without anything ever taking them by surprise or stymying their progress.
I am awed by that person, they in turn are disgusted by me.
I have a tendency to allow problems resultant of inattention to compound until they grow into something too debilitating to ignore, i.e. tax levy’s, suspended phone service, and seized drive trains.
These things tend to crash onto the shores of my little life in waves that sometimes will syncronize to flood right up to the point where I can just tread water to keep the head up.
Getting one thing in order is always necessary before I can proceed to survey the damage and get things working again, usually I start by cleaning the room and organizing the ignored bills and warnings that have come in the mail. This time I started with a new drive train and wheelset to get BBW #10, my road bike, running smooth again.
Everything else is still pretty much in shambles with a negative account balance and the beautiful, smart, fast bike riding lady I love unable to cope with the complications my falling down lifestyle brings about but damn if that feeling of pushing down on a buttery smooth new drive train isn’t enough to make it seem like I can make everything else alright soon enough.
