Budd Bike Work’s October Update. BBW’s no.28 & no.29 on the Table, 17 days to my 32nd year. Three and a half weeks to Halloween and Philadelphia Bike Expo. Getting Busy Bike People

Design Draft Approved on no. 29, and tubes and dropouts and assorted bits are ready for cleaning and marking and checking and marking and checking and marking and forgetting what it was you were supposed to be doing and eating and clamping and checking and moving cutting and checking and drilling and cleaning and welding and tweaking and checking and welding and checking and eating and hauling and delivering and powder coating and picking up and riding and working and racing and traveling and painting and showing and playing and talking and delivering.  The thing is practically done already.

I think I may have to peruse for tool bargains first though, I need some new blocks for my lego set.

Awaiting fork spec. to get the design drawn up for no.28, can’t really say a bad thing about a nice carbon one drawn from a mold over seas, they are pretty amazing. I’ll be fabbing one up for no. 29 though, I learned some tough early lessons (sorry about that one dude, I am really glad you are alright)  in fork design as a fledgling and over eager frame builder for friends only and am excited to get back that degree of design freedom you have when you aren’t hemmed in by a manufacturers spec on a factory fork.  When they are right they are right but if you need something just that little bit different you are going to need a custom fork.

I am really excited about the bike expo at the end of the month being put on by the great and talented folks at Billenky that coincides with halloween and verge midatlantic racing and birthdays.  Philly had been the city downstream from me growing up and I had found there a great riding culture that never had a problem with this weird skinny kid tagging along.  The Wissahicken trails will have to be re-explored at some point on my visit home.

Summer is gone again folks, Lets keep it together out there people and have yourselves a great fall.
